In this scene, Omar is stopped by Israeli soldiers after climbing over a portion of an Israeli-built wall in the West Bank. The soldiers are portrayed as malicious. Regardless of how representative this is of Israeli soldiers in real life, this portrayal was done purposefully for the movie's plot and overall message; in the next scene, Omar suggests to his friends that they immediately carry out their planned attack on an Israeli outpost.

The soldier speaks Arabic with a typical Israeli accent. That's why he pronounces the ر as a French-R instead of rolling it like a Spanish-R (rolled is the standard pronunciation in Arabic). You can hear Omar’s lawyer speak with this accent later in the film. The Palestinian rap group DAM also deliberately speaks with this accent to imitate Israelis in the opening of their song مطلوب عربي.
